Why do lux meters need regular calibration?

Lux meter sensors and their filters age with exposure to light, heat and handling, which gradually changes their response. Without calibration, a meter can read high or low without any obvious sign. Periodic calibration against a traceable reference confirms that your illumination surveys reflect actual light levels.

Can you calibrate the UV meter we use to check UV lamps?

Yes. We calibrate handheld UV intensity meters and radiometers used to monitor UV lamps in laboratories, pass boxes and production areas. Share the make, model and wavelength band of your meter, and we will confirm whether it is covered within our NABL scope of accreditation.

Where are lux meters used in pharmaceutical and healthcare facilities?

Lux meters are used to verify lighting levels in cleanrooms, visual inspection stations, laboratories, operating areas and warehouses. These checks often form part of facility qualification and routine monitoring, so the meter used must itself be calibrated and traceable.

Is optical calibration done on-site or at your laboratory?
